If You Were Hurt at Work

Report the injury to your employer.
In California, you generally need to report a workplace injury within 30 days, sooner is always better. -
Your employer files a workers' comp claim.
This usually goes through their insurance carrier, and you may be directed to a specific provider network. -
You get evaluated and treated.
This is where we come in. Your exam findings and treatment plan get documented and sent to the claims adjuster. -
Ongoing care and check-ins.
Depending on your injury, you may need several visits before you're back to full function. We track your progress the whole way. -
Claim resolution.
Once you've recovered, or reached what's called maximum medical improvement, the claim gets closed out based on your documented treatment.

Photos, witness names, an incident report if one exists. The more detail the better. -
Decide whether to involve an attorney.
Not every case needs one, but if liability or a larger claim is involved, an attorney can help you understand your options. We're glad to coordinate with your attorney if you have one. -

Waiting to get checked out is one of the most common mistakes people make. Gaps in treatment can actually hurt your claim. -
Treatment and documentation.
We treat your injury and keep clear records the whole way, this becomes part of your claim file. -
Claim or settlement discussion.
Your attorney or the insurance company typically handles the financial side once your treatment and documentation are in place. In California, you generally have two years from the date of injury to file a personal injury claim, though an attorney can confirm what applies to your specific situation.

Your first visit includes a full consultation and exam, with digital x-rays if your injury calls for them, so we can see exactly what's going on and build documentation from day one.
